OBGR model

Resistor in open version (IP00), assembled in banks with high specific power, available in both single-phase configuration (typically used for braking large inverter-driven motors, or as an earthing resistor for systems with insulation voltages up to 1000 V) and three-phase configuration (as a load bank or fixed-step starting resistor for wound-rotor motors).

The specific configuration of the individual grid elements making up the bank gives this resistor particularly quiet operation during braking when the latter is chopper-controlled, together with high mechanical strength, making it especially suitable for all applications subject to vibration or shock (for example on overhead travelling cranes).

The high mass of its active parts makes the OBGR model the ideal resistor whenever large amounts of energy have to be absorbed in a short time, as in the emergency braking systems of wind turbines.

The main feature setting it apart from the GRF model is that it can be manufactured with different steel alloys and a range of thicknesses, allowing it to be used in a wide variety of applications.
